| Bowenwork has given me an amazing testimony. I was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of fifteen and was crippled with pain. I was using a wheel chair and was bedridden most of the time. I started looking for alternative treatments because the doctors I had seen believed that I wouldn't have a long life, because of the effects Lupus was having on my organs. I was taking all kinds of pain pills that were creating additional problematic symptoms.
I started seeing a naturopathic physician which helped in getting me off of the prescription medications. I started taking naturopathic medications and it was the start of my detox. It helped get me out of bed and out of a wheelchair, although I still had many symptoms which put me in the hospital on a monthly basis. Some conditions I was dealing with in addition to Lupus included severe endometreosis, a mego idio-pathic bladder, and recurring bladder and kidney infections. I was also diagnosed with child migraines at 2 years old, and I didn't know what it was like to live without a headache.
My grandfather , who was a very prophetic man in my life, told me that I was missing my calling and that I needed to go to massage school. This seemed quite silly to me because I knew how hard it was to physically give a massage. I was too fragile to receive a massage. He told me it was the Lord's will that I go, so I did. The year of massage school was torture. I was taken by ambulance from class one evening while receiving a massage, and my body hardly held up as I was giving them.
Before I graduated, my naturopathic doctor shared Bowenwork with me. He had never done a treatment on me before, but what he had to say about it sounded very exciting. To practice Bowenwork in the state of Washington you had to have a massage license, so he offered me a job doing Bowenwork in his office if I would become certified. I took my first Bowenwork class in 1999, and the more I learned about it, the more excited I got about the potential effects it could have on my grandpa's and my own health.
Having the technique practiced on me in class was my first introduction to it. My body was going through major reactions. Even though we were just practicing my body started to process it, and the changes were intense. My body became fatigued and I was experiencing major discomfort. The instructor insured me that Bowenwork can't make you worse overall and the reaction I was experiencing was my body unraveling and addressing the history of dysfunction. During class we learned a procedure to address the tailbone. I injured my tailbone when I was 6 years old. Since then my digestive system, reproductive organs, and UT systems didn't function as well. My bladder problems caused me to use a catheter to urinate.
After 10 treatments a day for 5 days of class we ended with practicing the coccyx (tailbone) procedure. After the procedure I cried uncontrollably for 2 hours. I spent the next 3 weeks experiencing major distress in my body, and was so discouraged that I wasn't planning on taking another class. It is important to know that because I was being practiced on, I was not being treated appropriately. It took 3 weeks for my body to organize all the messages and finally I benefited from it. I haven't needed to use a catheter since. I was so elated that I traveled near and far to learn as much as I could about Bowenwork.
While working for my naturopathic doctor, he made me a weekly guest on his radio show “The Health, Hope, and Healing Hour” and my practice started to grow. During this time I also started Bowenwork treatments outside of class, and my body rapidly started to heal. I was told I wouldn't be able to carry a child because of severe endometreosis. After 2 years of trying to conceive, I decided to try the infertility protocol that Bowenwork offers. I got pregnant after only trying it once. I had a healthy pregnancy, and now have two healthy and beautiful little girls. Bowenwork addresses the body as a whole and my testimony shows this!
Bowenwork has replaced the medications and supplements that I was taking. It has also affected my mental health. I no longer take an anti-depressant. Bowenwork has brought me closer to the Lord. Through prayer and petition, the Lord revealed to me the root of this disease. Un-forgiveness, self-destructing talk, and bitterness. I remember vividly when the disease was uprooted from me. After forgiving myself and laying these things before the Lord, I saw this infected seed uprooted from me, and all symptoms and signs of Lupus have been gone ever since. I am no longer allergic to the sun, and all lab tests report no findings of Lupus.
After all of this, something else happened that dropped me to my knees again. My husband, nine month old daughter, and I were hit in a head on collision on Highway 9 going over 50 mph. I was driving and took the majority of the impact on my side. We were all bruised from head to toe, but the worst part was that my right ankle was shattered and had no pulse. They told me that they would try to piece it back together, but if it didn't start receiving blood, then I may lose my lower leg. I did a procedure on that part of my body that increased my circulation and the next thing I knew I was in emergency surgery.
I had 2 major surgeries and they used 22 screws and 3 plates to put my ankle back together. My ankle has it's up and down days, but the pain is isolated in the ankle because Bowenwork addresses the areas compensating. Soon after the accident I treated my husband and daughter from my hospital bed and continued treatment on them for a couple months. They both are symptom free and as healthy as ever. Bowenwork allowed their bodies to rapidly heal.
I had many discouraging doctor appointments on the condition of my ankle. After hearing them say I would no longer be able to walk the mall or supermarket again or run or dance anymore, I considered amputating my lower leg so that I could play with my girls. I had a dream that night of me standing next to Jesus, and I had a prosthetic lower leg. He touched it and said “I would have healed that for you”. I woke up and knew the Lord has decided that I will be healed.
The great news is that I have recently discovered an alternative to amputation. The plan is to take all the metal out slowly and in stages. During this time, there is a machine I can use to help re-grow bone in an accelerated amount of time. This is an answer to prayer and has given me a tremendous amount of hope for my future!
My grandfather passed away just before Christmas in 2004, and is now with his Lord and Savior. Bowenwork helped improve the quality of his life toward the end of it. My grandfather loved to golf, but was suffering from emphazema related to asbestos exposure, and he needed a nebulizer to breathe. There was one golf outing together where Bowenwork was desperately needed. He showed up to the golf course completely blue in the face and was not going to be able to participate. I did a procedure on his lungs and had him rest for fifteen minutes. Incredibly, he ended up golfing 18 holes without his nebulizer and feeling great.
I have had so many amazing testimonies like this one from people, that it gives me a great sense of purpose and satisfaction. Thank you grandpa for your words of wisdom. This is my calling.
